Its raining

Its raining heavily here in Mumbai and the BMC’s promise of preparation has gone down the drain as usual, some things in life are so predictable.

Sarkar Raj

Saw the much awaited Sarkar Raj yesterday. First and foremost I feel that the Govinda tune was over used, in the first half after almost every dialogue the theme song would blast in the background. The movie lives up to the adage that the sequels can never overcome the original. The story line is about a power plant being set up and the politics in that. Like the original here too there are scenes of the villains huddling together and scheming against the Nagre family and the climax shoes that the brain was some one else whom they trusted. Some of the dialogues are good I liked the one where one of the characters says "India me public ko development nahi entertainment chahiye" it’s so true. More than the acting it was the camera which took stage shooting in lots of weird angles and the sepia tinge. The first part was fully "INSPIRED" by the The God Father the second is not. Amitabh was good as usual and Abhishek played his part of being a suit wearing don but with a lot of harping on "Maharashtra ki unnati" which I feel was not required. One or twice would have been fine but every time the talk about the power plant comes up there’s Maharashtras unnati coming up. I guess they wanted to give a message that as a family they are concerned about Mahrashtras progress. The pre release rumors that it’s based on Raj and Uddhav’s fight is all bull shit. Like the first part the actors who play the villains did it well. I forgot to mention Aishwarya well she’s in the movie wearing business suits accompanying her real life beau and crying once a while also delivering couple of lines. Most of her role is spent on close angle shots with some expressions thrown in. Tanisha’s role as Shankar Nagre’s wife was better than her famous bra advertisement. The movie ends with a probability that a third part can be made if required.

Lived for 3 months, he jumped to his death today.

He had some problem with his rear fin so I took him out of the bowl and put him a small container with anti fungal solution.

My mistake I should have read this before that; fighter fishes like to jump.

Today morning I fed him and went out for a couple of hours only to see him lying 1 feet away from the container and ants eating him away.

Hope everythings ok in fishy heaven.

Voice mails

Its been quite some time that I have activated voice mail on my mobile phone.

I had left a message saying that its me and I cant pick up your call please leave a message. I wonder why people who call me feel that I can guess their numbers by hearing their voice. People leave messages like its me call me back, forget the number he hasnt given me a name !!!

So for people who thought that even in voice mails the number is displayed I changed the message and put in  please leave your name and number.

Today morning I get a voice mail  from some one saying that its me calling from Bangalore please call me ASAP.

Isn’t it simple to leave your name and number !!!!!

Yeh Khali Khali kya hai ???

If you turn any news channel or for that matter any newspaper it’s full of Khali.

Don’t know why he’s given such importance?

He’s just a pro wrestler fighting in scripted matches.

I don’t have anything against him or WWE.

I used to be a big fan of it during the old days of WWF, but this attention is really too much.

Just because nature did some hormonal imbalance in him doesn’t mean he deserves such a lot of footage.

Khali meets Shahrukh, Sachin took his kids to meet him, Khali pees, Khali is a vegetarian who eats only 5 chickens daily  that’s all in the news for the past week.

People describe him as a great wrestler defeating the likes of The Undertaker.

Well it’s a scripted match so even if I was in his place I would have defeated The Undertaker.

Tomorrow the WWE folks would want to show an underdog triumph (we all like underdogs winning don’t we??) they would bring a wrestler half his size and script a match where he looses and then these same blokes might cry.

He’s still with Punjab police on sick leave, I think its high time the Punjab police bosses need to wake up and realize that this guy is nowhere near sick.

Hes not representing the country in any sport then why the hell do they still want him on their rolls??

It’s sure that he doesn’t need the partly salary and government job now so why don’t you guys remove him from service, give it to some deserving guy,
but the funny part is that they are even promoting him, for what mate, eating 5 chickens???

Lok sabha attendance

Got this link via Rahul.

It shows the attendance of our dearest MPs.

It clearly shows the amount of interest they take in solving our problems.

Next time if your college says that you are black listed for lack of attendance then dont loose hope, you know where you would end up.

Khuda Ke Liye and Horton Hears A Who

Watched two movies recently the acclaimed Pakistani movie Khuda Ke Liye and the animation movie Horton Hears A Who.

I was quite eager to watch khuda Ke Liye since it was a Pakistani movie which was released in India.

The movie is all about Islam and terrorism. One thing I came to know through the portrayal of the heroine’s father is that hypocrisy is a sub continental thing.

This bloke is shown to live in London, drinks beer and has a white woman as his wife, but he wants his daughter to marry a Pakistani and not her white boy friend.

He  manages to cheat her into marrying a wannabe Jehadi.

It captures the story of the wannabe Jehadi; how he is misguided by a false maulana.

The other protagonist is his brother who is shown as a victim of post 9/11 hate crime.

Naseeruddin Shah has got a small cameo to play in it, but he packs a punch in the role he plays.

Horton Hears A Who is a wonderful movie its got a good social message to it. Somehow I feel that animated movies give a much better social and moral message.

I know lot of folks who would shun way from wathcing an animated movie because they feel cartoons are only for children and grown ups should watch Tashan.

They wont even try watching one animated movie, passing judgements without even understanding stuff is  very common.

They really dont know what they are missing.

This movie tells us to respect a person no matter how small he might be.

Thru the character of the Kangaroo it shows the generic makeup of our society, where people laugh at you just becasue they dont understand things even if  you are right.

It tells us that if we are right then take courage and stick to it like Horton and the mayor of Whoville.

Mumbai Indians vs Deccan Chargers at DY Patil

Yesterday I saw my first IPL match live at the DY Patil stadium. Good thing that they built it close to my house. The stadium is very good compared to the joke called Wankhede.

I think that the DY Patil stadium is the best in India and hopefully they would keep it that way. The cops and the adminsitration did a good job in managing the crowd and the parking arrangements made were quite good for such a huge crowd.

The last time I went to a stadium was Wankhede to watch an India Australia one day, the Aussies kicked our butt.

I liked the atmosphere; it was more like a big party. You have to be in a stadium to actually feel why T20 is getting popular. The stadium was packed with 55000 people one can imagine what Eden gardens might be with 1 lakh on a houseful day.

The organizers were playing the usual item songs from movies and boy it was fun to sit with 55000 people most of them were dancing for no particular reason. They had kept some dhol walas in the stands to play the typical Mumbhaiyya tune which we hear during Ganesh visarjan. Music which brings out the ranti dude in any Mumbaikar.

The crowd wanted Sachin and when he waved on the big screen they went mad.

Those who were opposing the cheerleaders should have been in the stands, the moment the firangi cheerleaders of Deccan Chargers came in people forgot that a match was going on.

Everybody in the there were ogling at them.

Well give our crowd firang babes they go bonkers. The poor Mumbai Indians cheerleaders were totally ignored for these goras they must be feeling like Mukesh Ambani after the match. This happens in a sexually suppressed society.

Coming back to the match it was paisa vasool with Gilly giving batting lessons to the Mumbai batsmen.

Initially the crowd was cheering for the Mumbai Indians team but when Gilly started hitting people started cheering him.

I feel that IPL would not be able to bring in team loyalty like the football leagues; people just want fours and sixes from anyone.

Gilly gave the masses what they wanted. The ovation he got was much better than what he would get in Australia. Felt pity for Symonds whenever he came near the boundary for fielding he was booed by the crowd.

Whatever people say I still feel that Deccan Chargers is a good team and they certainly can win over anybody only Laxman should be on the bench. The other team which has got an impressive run till now is the Chennai Super Kings.

Speaking of Chennai this Dhoni ad is worth a watch.
