Change is constant

Our bank employees were on strike and one of their demands was to stop outsourcing !!!

Amusing, all this at a time when the world is outsourcing to India.

How come that they don’t understand that a major chunk of increase in  bank’s incomes as well as theirs in the past decade was directly or indirectly related to outsourcing?

They should understand that running a bank is also a business and like all businesses the aim would be profitability.

Another demand was that recruitments should start which sounds ridiculous according to me recruitments should be done only when the business demands it not when some disgruntled employees who have never worked under competition suddenly realizes that their work load has increased.

Thankfully as this report indicates that this strike didn’t result in a complete mayhem, which shows that these striking jokers can be dispensable too.

I feel that all this is a knee jerk reaction to change which they aren’t able to palate.

The laptop ordeal

It all started with a phone call, Manoj called me on Saturday afternoon to his Kamala Mills office as he wanted to buy a laptop for his sis and the journey began. I reached Kamala Mills and boy its changed, its the place where I started my first job so the trip was a nostalgic one. From his office we went to Vijay Sales, Prabhadevi office (Vijay Sales is a big consumer electronics retailer in Mumbai). As he didn’t want a big dent on his pocket we came down to LG XNote which was priced at 33500. We paid the money and left.
