Weekly rant
In this article about stolen antiques my friend Anshuman has put up a question for the readers whether we will ever be able to preserve our rich ancient heritage?
I’m not an authority on antiques or heritage but the answer from my side would be a big N-O.
I also get a reason to rant a lot about this.
These antiques would be better off with some private collector in some far off island rather than in our country, because no one really bothers about antiques or heritage out here. No one really respects them. It’s assured that some dude with lots of spare cash who purchases them would look after it well.
I was fortunate enough to go on a lot of trekking trips in the past 2 years of my stay in Pune. We had trekked a lot of ancient forts in and around the Sahyadri region. To name a few Torna, Rajgad, Harischandragad, Salher and of course Sinhgad.
