1-2-3

Today one of the news channels questioned our great MPs what the 1-2-3 deal was all about.

That starts my rant.

<=% rant >  (Ruby hangover :-) )

None of these jokers (well headless chickens might create an uproar) knew it.

I remember when the Vande Mataram row was going on a similar bunch of jokers were asked to sing it and none of them knew but this is more disappointing they want the people to spend thousand’s of crores and go in for an election, over an issue which they don’t even know !!!

They are not bothered about energy security, but they and their cronies would be ready to smash electricity board offices when load shedding starts during summers.

This shows the quality and caliber of our elected representatives. Apart from a few of them the rest are really brainless people, even a roadside goonda would have a rationale while going ahead with his destructive work.

They stall parliament ,go on with their hooliganism with no shame on issues which they arent even aware, wasting OUR money .

These parasites should be fumigated from the country.

Phew !!!

Rant ended.

Tux has landed

Installed Ubuntu on my new computer.

Posting this entry from it.

Im really impressed with it emoticon functionality wise its much better than all other distros I tried to install on my old computer.

The Live CD feature helped me into deciding whether its right for me.

Only problem is the net connectivity, its because the Linux dialer which the Sify guys give doesn’t work well.

I called up Sify customer care they sent an engineer who said I dont know Linux…so simple.
Good for me because I started experimenting and finally it worked. emoticon

The workaround I tried was to connect in Windows (I have got dual boot the computer is used by others too) and then restart the compter in Ubuntu.

The Ubuntu forums give fast solutions for noobs like me.

Heres a screenshot of my desktop in Ubuntu.

Downloaded this wallpaper from here.

Exsersirige

Some wise man had advised me long time ago that to boost up your vocabulary you need to read the sign boards around and thats what I did.

It took me a long time to understand what Exsersirige meant.

I improved my arsenal by adding other amazing pearls like Thissis and Abozing to my eestrong vocabulary.

Chak de

Saw Chak De on Saturday.

SRK tries to do a Gordon Bombay, but here it ain’t the Mighty Ducks but is the Indian National Women’s team, thats what he says at least 10 times in the movie.

Its well made with lot of social issues thrown in. Womens empowerment and the apathy towards sports in our country being the most highlighted. It has taken up other issues as well, the rampant regionalism in our society, the lack of awareness about different parts of the country. I liked the part where on of the characters after being asked the difference between Telegu and Tamil replies that its the same between Haryana and Punjab. Attaboy oops attagirl emoticon

I know folks who know everything about the states in Amrica along with their time zones, but don’t know that there are four states in South India emoticon.

The utter ignorance of North Eastern states is also highlighted well along with the issues folks from that part of the country face in our cities.

SRK does well in the role of a guy who has to get back his lost glory, especially after being branded as a traitor for loosing to Pakistan.

Till now I have liked his acting in DDLJ, Swades and his voice over in the Hindi version of The Incredibles.

The actors who portray the role of sports officials are too good.

If you are a sports fan you feel like punching them.

One thing I have noticed is that cricket is kept at the back burner in the sports related movies dished out by the Hindi film industry (Lagaan and Iqbal are exceptions).
