Hes got the solution here.
This proves that the generic Linux dialer given by the Sify folks is a dud.

The link above is not getting me on the page can you give the correct trackback or the link so that I can also try it out and is it working by default or you need to configure it a lot as I am new to Linux but want my internet on linux.

oh i got it , sorry the link was adding some junk so without searching on the website came back and commented here . thanks for the link . But anyways your solution link isn’t working i guess you have copied the trackback link wrong.
