Potter binge

I know I’m a late riser.

Finally I read all the Harry Potter books over the last four weeks thanks to my neighbourhood library.

The condition of books surely shows how popular Hari da puttar is. The library folks wanted 500 bucks deposit from the Order Of The Phoenix onwards coupled with a ‘return it within 5 days’ rule.

Till the Goblet Of Fire the story seemed to be interesting but after that I was getting bored, may be I read all the books back to back which saturated me.

I liked the Hindi film like ending especially Snape turning out to be a good man.

Next in line is Ashok Banker’s Ramayana series, hope I dont have to shell out any more deposit for it.

Competition

One warm evening on a CST-Panvel train.

I got in at Vashi, the first class compartment had the usual set of folks.

Couple of blokes were dozing, all looked well.

Suddenly this chap wakes up after the train left Vashi station, and asks "Sandhurst Road aya kya".

Vashi is the 13th station after of his destination !!!

I love competition emoticon.

My marriage registration saga

The story started after couple of months of marriage, some wise man told me go get your marriage registered.

Used google to find out the procedure and documents required for registration but didnt get anty dope on it.

Called up married friends and finally found out that for my area, Nerul the registration happens at the Belapur based headquarters of NMMC.

Day 1: Many months ago

Pulled my lazy muscles to Belapur, the guy  out there asked me my area. Told me that the registration happens at the NMMC office in Nerul. Just 10 mins drive from my place, WOW.

Day 2: Couple of weeks after day 1

I reach the NMMC office in Nerul, one really helpful official (couldnt believe it that a govt servant could be so so helpful) gave me a form and explained the entire list of documents required. I went home happily.

Day 3: Some months after day 2.

Managed to get all the required documents, copies weretaken, attestaions were done and finally made it up at the NMMC office. The good guy who helped me wasnt there, I was sent to someone else. He nuked all my marriage registration expectations, according to him I had to get couple more documents and sigantures.

Day 4 : Today

Finally made up my mind, got all the documents and reached the NMMC office at Nerul.

Met another guy, he told me that … the office has shifted back to Belapur so I need to go there.

So this poor guy went to Belapur office only to get an answer "Saheb sutti la ahe….20 tarik la ya " ("The required bloke is on leave come on 20th")

Now I’m waiting for  the 20th, exactly 11 months after my marriage emoticon

GTD going strong

Finally started implementing GTD serioulsy.

The good thing about GTD is that if you slack away, which lazy bums like me do constantly getting back on the bus ain’t that  hard.

Made a GTD book, was using Thinking Rock for some time, the new version is really awesome in implementing GTD, but the problem which I faced was that after office hours you dont feel like loggin on to your home computer and working.

Also I spend a lot of time travelling, thats when I do most of my inbox processing, so I went back to good ol pen and paper.

Spent more than an hour on a Saturday evening in making the book, one more reason to actually use it.

After the first mind sweep the book is almost full, freak I never knew I had so much to do.

Here is a great link on why one should implemet the Next Action list.
